Dear Traveler,
«Καλό μήνα» (Kalo Mina). Let’s welcome November, a month filled with gratitude and beautiful moments. The crowds in Greece have thinned out, the sun is shining and the air is crisp.
Fall is a wonderful time to explore the unexplored Greece, as every season brings unique happenings.
In our “Out of the box reasons to visit Greece” issue we introduce you to the dramatic landscape of Crete, dotted with fascinating gorges, soaring mountain peaks and abundant natural beauty. A perfect destination to enjoy a one-of-a-kind hiking holiday in fall.
October also marked a month of several noteworthy events — Ochi Day, one of the proudest National Holidays of Greece commemorating the answer “Ochi” (No) that the Greek Prime Minister Ioannis Metaxas gave to the Italian Ambassador when he issued Benito Mussolini’s the ultimatum that Greece permit Italian troops to enter the country and take up strategic locations.
Another exciting event which took place in one of Greece’s most fascinating destinations — Messenia is the Annual Athens Democracy Forum. During the Spirituality and Democracy Weekend speakers addressed topics such as the deep connection between spirituality and democracy, with the notion of the self being the starting point for strength and health in the family, community, nation, and world.
Greece is a country of glorious topography and dramatic contrasts. Let us help you discover its lesser known parts!
Sincerely yours,
Elena Papanicolaou
